Magnificently Chaotic! Bracken Stag 🦌

Stag Painting in green in a metallic frame

 Bracken Stag
Can we talk about this chap for a minute?

He's done something that all stags actually do as the rut approaches. He has decorated himself with bracken and foliage to look bigger, more fearsome, more attractive. The whole point is to be magnificent and intimidating.

He's pulled it off with mixed results and I adore him for it.

There's something so relatable about trying really hard and ending up looking slightly shambolic but still completely committed to the task.

He's meeting our eyes like we've just stumbled across him in the woods mid-preparation, and he's not even a little bit embarrassed. Good for him, honestly!

The colours came from that very specific late summer feeling when the woods go deep teal and warm gold, and everything feels atmospheric, like summer knows it's nearly done. It's one of my favourite palettes to work in.

Bracken Stag is available as a framed or unframed canvas print. He's one of those paintings that draws you in for a proper look.

He's listed in the shop now if you'd like to give him a wall to be magnificent on😍
