Personality Without Clutter

Personality Without Clutter - Animal Art by Susan Gardner - Contemporary Expressionist - Colourful Fine Art

Personality Without Clutter

We all know this dilemma when we're decorating. There's often a feeling that every surface needs to say something, that empty space is wasted space. The result is often a creeping accumulation of objects: candles, trinkets, small sculptures, stacked books with their spines carefully colour-coordinated. It looks personal, but also messy.

This is where a single, well-chosen animal artwork quietly outperforms the lot.

One bold piece - let's say a big wolf print,  colourful cow or horse, a prowling leopard in oils - will anchor a room more effectively than a shelf of bits-and-bobs.

It draws the eye, and it tells viewers something about your personality too. A stag suggests a love of wild landscapes. An octopus hints at curiosity and a slightly eccentric mind. A loyal pet is beautiful, personal and emotive.

Art often works best when given room to breathe, hung alone on a generous wall with nothing competing for attention.

In a world where interiors can easily tip into either the aggressively minimalist or the overwhelmingly busy, animal art offers a third way.

It's an unusual and considered choice that makes a space feel welcoming and characterful,  without cluttering it up.

Here are three of my most popular animal canvas prints:
