I like this trend - it suits my love of colour and cosy things!
Interior designers are moving towards a more sensory and emotion-led approach for 2026 and beyond. I'm here for it!
Yes, there is still the influence of Instagram, but I can see that homes are being designed not simply to look beautiful in photographs, but to feel restorative, layered and deeply personal to live in. People are becoming far more intentional about the atmosphere they create at home.
Design trends such as Sensory Sanctuary and Earthly Wonders reflect a growing desire for interiors that reconnect us with colour, texture, nature and emotion. There is a move away from hard minimalism and towards spaces that engage the senses more and create a genuine sense of comfort. It makes perfect sense to me, and my work fits right into the new aesthetic.

My own work has always been based in colour, moods and the natural world. I’m interested in creating pieces that feel alive with energy and presence. I want the paintings to bring warmth, rhythm and personality into a space. These are animal and bird paintings that are perfectly at home in the most contemporary and upscale homes.
Perhaps people are moving away from perfectly uniform spaces, painted in safe neutrals and looking instead for homes with character and originality. Collectors increasingly want artwork that feels distinctive and personal to them, Unique artwork that means something rather than simply matching a sofa.
I really think people are searching for homes that feel emotionally nourishing as well as visually beautiful. Artwork can make this happen in an easy, rewarding way.

I'm delighted because this emotional connection between the other animas and us has always been at the centre of my work, and it feels increasingly relevant within the direction interiors are taking now.
