Description

This piece is all about the loving bond between the mother and her calf. Twiga is the Swahili word for giraffe. The babies can run as soon as they're born, so they can keep safely with the herd (known as a Tower of Giraffe).

They stay with their mother for around four years, and even assist with the care of baby siblings as they come along.  Baby giraffes are so pretty, with their velvety coat, huge eyes and little horns like fluffy paintbrushes.

 The surface of the painting is textured and tactile, composed of multiple layers of paint, with visible brushstrokes.
